Reading Takes You Everywhere

2018 Summer Reading Program

At Virginia Eastern Shore Public Libraries

What is the Summer Reading Program?

Keep up and improve your reading skills this summer!

At your public library, kids of all ages can sign up to track their summer reading and earn prizes. The program begins June 25 and ends on August 19.

Very soon, more information will be available at your local public libraries, on our website, and on our Facebook pages. Watch for announcements about special registration events that will take place earlier in June.

Got fines?

Complete the program and get all of the existing fines on your youth account forgiven.

Summer Events – Special Programs, Crafts, Legos, STREAM Days

Excitement and fun await those who journey to the public library. In addition to reading great books, you can participate in other exciting library programs. We have plans to make the library a great place where Reading Takes You Everywhere!

We will host special programs including a magician, wild animals, and interesting people from near and far. We will be designing and creating with Legos, recycled items, blocks, and more. We plan to have many STREAM events where we will learn about and explore Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, and/or Math. Summer meals or snacks will be available in Accomac and Nassawadox.

All programs are free and open to the public, although some require preregistration due to space limitations. Check with your public library to determine if preregistration is required. Our calendar of summer events will be available on the Eastern Shore Public Library’s website.
