One of the great pleasures of living on Chincoteague is the Third Tuesday Book Club where we meet for fun, laughs, and of course a rich discussion of good reads. We are not shy about controversial topics, because we have become friends- it is just the characters in the books that we dissect, defend, and sometimes even despise. And that is one of the joys of books, being immersed in someone else’s life for 350 pages. We learn about ourselves our neighbors, and our world.
There’s an empty chair for you! Won’t you join us?
Island Readers Tuesday Book Group meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at the Chincoteague Island Library at 7:00 pm. New members are welcome to join the discussion.
The Friends of the Eastern Shore Public Library are meeting today at 10 am in the children’s room of the Accomac library. New members are welcome.
The Accomac, Cape Charles, Chincoteague Island and Northampton Free libraries will be closed today in observance of Labor Day.
Looking for a topical, lively discussion? The Eastern Shore Public Library Friends have a book group that meets monthly at the Northampton Free Library. A designated topic is decided in advance and everyone reads something related to that topic. Refreshments provided.
